I’ve just had a boudoir shoot with Sammy, Jane and Kay and I can’t explain how incredibly wonderful the day was from start to finish.
I’d already been speaking with Jane following my pre-shoot consultation, so when I arrived, it was like meeting an old friend. I was immediately made to feel welcome and offered a cuppa!
Kay did my hair and makeup and listened to how I usually style myself, and then did ten times better! By the time I was ready for the shoot, I was so comfortable and felt gorgeous and confident.
Sammy took the photos, of course, and made sure to direct everything, showing me how to pose “himself first” from head to toe, and then Kay made sure there wasn’t a hair out of place before the photo. Sammy is incredibly respectful; I got more comfortable throughout the shoot, and there wasn’t a moment where I didn’t feel like we were creating elegant artwork as opposed to anything else.
The results were stunning; I can’t believe they are me! Going through all the photos with Jane afterwards and selecting the photos was brilliant; she helps you go through and choose photos that go well together and highlight your best parts.
Honestly, a truly flawless experience; I would recommend this to anyone and everyone! If there’s any doubt at all, ignore it; Sammy, Jane and Kay will make you forget any insecurities and bring out your best self. Thank you for the best day – until next time! xx

I was so nervous and had been putting off booking a boudoir shoot, but I took the plunge and so glad I did. Jane and Sam are a wonderful team; they are so professional, kind, patient and respectful. Every part of the Boudoir Photoshoot was professional, efficient, and very friendly, making a very nervous lady with a stoma bag, feel very sexy about herself. I’ve had hair and makeup done; Kay listened to what I wanted for makeup and hair.  (Natural look make up with curly hair) felt comfortable with “Barnie the bag” with lovely bag covers. And “Barnie got Naked” With lovely Sammy (Jane’s Husband) taking Photos; every action and pose was done with great professionalism. All poses were explained in great detail to help me overcome nerves. With great humour He made you feel so special it was so lovely to feel as if you were the only one in the room. The whole experience was great with very special memories. Everyone was open to your own ideas as well as theirs. The communications and build-up, right up to the day before the shoot, were friendly, professional and like talking to your best friend. At the end of the shoot, with a lovely cuppa, Jane’s editing expertise, bubbly personality, Kay’s magic with the makeup brush, and advice on what to use in the future and curly hair tips!! And Sam’s brilliant photography and lighting. My lovely husband, John. Who made it all possible; the couple’s photos were fun and done with great humour .. What a great day !!!

If you are thinking about booking a boudoir shoot but are holding back due to anxieties with body confidence, PLEASE BOOK IT AND WORRY LATER. You’ll soon realise that there is nothing to worry about as Jane makes you feel wonderful from the moment you speak to her. Jane was really supportive and made me feel like I was her one and only client. She gave me the power to choose my outfits but guided me on what would look best. I had a story to tell with my shoot, and no idea was too much trouble. The shoot itself was exhilarating – I started off shy and self-conscious but with the help of Sam and Kay I ended up super confident and this shows in my photos. Kay did a lovely job with my makeup, and she ensured I kept my ‘natural beauty ‘, unlike other makeup artists who make you look like a doll. I was really worried I would hate myself even more after seeing the photos but I was shocked – I looked pretty incredible, and for the first time in a long time I saw the version of me that my partner sees when he looks at me, which was rather moving. I liked so many of the photos it was almost impossible to narrow them down. If you need a confidence boost and you want to feel sexy without feeling sexualised, this is the shoot to book. Trust me, you will not regret it. My husband very kindly gifted me a full makeover and boudoir photoshoot with Sammy Southall Photography, as I’ve never really had a positive view of my body – particularly since undergoing major surgery and chemotherapy in the last year, which has left me with a fairly large scar and thrown me into surgical menopause in my 30s. I was pretty apprehensive; what if I took this huge step out of my comfort zone only to not like what I saw afterwards?
I needn’t have worried. Jane was an absolute angel from the very moment I called up to book myself in, providing a warm, encouraging and friendly voice on the end of the phone, checking in regularly in the lead-up to the day so that by the time I arrived for my shoot she already felt like a friend and welcomed us with a big hug.

The makeover with Kay was fantastic; her knowledge and experience in stunning, natural makeup is very clear to see! She was also brilliant during the shoot, always on hand to make sure I was looking my best in front of the camera.

Last but not least, Sam’s camera and lighting skills are second to none, and his directions for getting the best expressions, angles and poses are really clear. He made me feel really comfortable in front of the lens, and it only took a few minutes before I felt a transition from feeling shy and awkward to feeling confident and empowered!

My photos were all ready to see within about 20 minutes, presented in a beautiful slideshow to music. I was absolutely blown away by what I saw, and have chosen 25 of the best (which was SO HARD!) to be made into a Little Black Book – I can hardly wait to receive it!

However you see yourself and your body, I would highly recommend Sammy Southall Photography to anyone; you’ll walk away feeling like an absolute rockstar.

Wow! I finally bit the bullet and decided now was the time to do a Boudoir Shoot and I am so glad I did. Jane, Kay and Sammy work together so beautifully as a team to make you feel special and to get the most amazing images. Wow, what a special day spent with Boudoir Midlands by Sammy Southall Photography. It has been 2 years since I had my first boudoir shoot, and I felt it was time to do another one

So much has changed in the last 2 years, my body included. I decided that I am not going to hide behind my scars, my extra pounds and my stretch marks, my body has kept me going over the past 2 years and it’s been to hell and back.

Jane, Sam and Kay are the perfect team to make your boudoir photos come to life. Kay made me look beautiful with hair and makeup and was there through my whole shoot, helping with positions and props. Jane was on hand to help with changing outfits and getting the pictures ready to view she really is amazing. Sam has so much creativity; he takes your photo ideas and brings them to life.

In a world where we are told we have to look a certain way, be a certain size etc, I made the choice to break that stigma. I do not have to fit into the media or society’s thought of perfect, and no one else should have to either.
I am enough, and I am unapologetically me!

I’m still as excited about my whole experience with Jane, Sammy and Kay as I was when I left following my Just Boudoir session. To say that I was feeling overwhelmed with trepidation before I arrived would be an understatement. But Jane took me through the whole process after a very welcome hug and kept me calm throughout the day. Her attitude was perfect and made me feel calm and comfortable. Kay was a superstar. Having my makeup done left me feeling beautiful and ready for the camera. More than that, her calm reassurance that I was in the right position was invaluable. At the age of 41 and as a mum of 4 boys, I decided to do something girly and just for me. I have the same body insecurities and many women my age and shape and I wanted to feel happier in my skin. I had the most wonderful day at my boudoir shoot with Sammy, his incredible wife Jane and their fantastic makeup and hair artist Kay.

Can’t thank Jane, Sammy, and Kay enough. I’ve wanted to do a boudoir shoot for ages, but in your head you’re that 30-year-old slim pretty thing. It’s only when you look in the mirror you find you’re not!….so you start to think am I good enough? The mum tum! The scars and the list goes on! So tentatively I messaged Jane to enquire……Jane is like the long-lost friend that you haven’t seen in a while. Okay, I thought, what’s this woman on ,I need some! She is lovely! And puts you straight at ease.
So after only a matter of weeks of messages, buying the outfits, discussing how the photos are going to go etc and putting you so at ease…it is not just walk in take a few photos and goodbye!
It’s a date day of pampering! Discussing outfits and hair, makeup, which I might add is an experience in itself, fabulous! I was totally pampered, indulged and I even learnt some makeup tips …. you’re never to old! Kay is a professional and totally knows her stuff!
Sammy is passionate about getting the photos right, the light, the position of your body. His enthusiasm is great! I was so engrossed I forgot my tummy fat legs etc etc I could go on!
Then comes the side show of looking at the photos ……powerful! Empowering, was not expecting to feel so bloody amazing! In fact, I sobbed. I saw my gorgeous hubby and me as the camera saw us

My Boudoir shoot journey stemmed from my Internet dating experience this year, where I was constantly asked for more photos and I had limited photos of myself. As someone who never takes selfies and hates having their photo taken, I knew I had to push myself out of my comfort zone, embrace my body and face some fears head-on.

After researching, I found Sammy Southall Photography and called for more information. Jane answered and immediately put me at ease, her passion for empowering and making women feel special oozed down the phone line. I knew I had made the right choice and felt full of confidence and booked a Boudoir shoot, which was within 2 weeks, eeek. Excited but nervous too.

On the day, I was greeted with a warm smile and hug from Jane, which helped ease my nerves. We discussed the shoot, the process, what I would wear or not wear and she helped me choose my lingerie outfits. I then had a tour of their beautiful studio. I was introduced to Kay and Sammy, who both made me feel welcome.

Kay did my makeup and was my right-hand woman throughout the shoot, helping with pose positions, giving tips and checking my hair and makeup. Kay talked me through what products she used and how to apply them, giving me tips along the way. Kay did an amazing job of making me look and feel beautiful.

Sammy was welcoming and professional throughout; he took amazing, creative shots and intuitively knew what angles and poses would work best for me to get the best results.

During the photoshoot, Jane was busy editing all the shots and putting together a slideshow that was available right after the shoot ended. I was blown away by the quality and creativeness; the photos were stunning.

I highly recommend Sammy Southall Photography to any woman; the team is incredible and works so well together to achieve fantastic results.
Do it, you won’t regret it. The whole experience was empowering, fun, amazing, emotional, lots of WOW moments, a huge confidence boost.

Boudoir Shoot – One word, WOW! Who on earth was that confident, happy woman looking back at me at the grand reveal at the end.

Jane was fantastic from enquiry – she helped me to decide on lingerie, photo ideas and helped me to calm my silly nerves before travelling to the studio.

Looking back those nerves were ridiculous. I arrived, was greeted by a very friendly Jane, we sat down and discussed the format of the shoot and looked at the sets I had bought with me. Sammy, the photographer, came and met me and talked through the photos that I liked.

Then, it was on to hair and makeup with Kay, who was fab; she is so knowledgeable and talented with both hair and makeup. Kay gave me some tips around make-up application, which was a lovely added bonus.

Time to get into my shoot lingerie – Jane was fab; she helped me get ready and then took me through to the studio. Kay remained at the shoot helping me to get into the correct poses and checking my hair and makeup was looking fab throughout.

Once the shoot, which lasted a good couple of hours, was finished, I was offered a cup of tea and got myself changed. Within 20 minutes, Jane, Sammy and Kay were with me viewing my personalised video collage of all of the photos – literally couldn’t believe how amazing the pictures came out.

What a day!! I started off my shoot quite nervous and shy but Sammy made me feel so comfortable and made sure I was happy with every pose and picture before continuing. He also respected my opinion and allowed me privacy whilst preparing for certain poses. My makeup and hair were done amazingly, and I was asked throughout if there were any styles I would prefer and whether I was happy with the finished look!! Kay also ensured every pose was perfect by helping me to reposition and made sure there wasn’t a single hair out of place. I finished my shoot feeling a complete Boudoir goddess, and the results were outstanding!! I cannot wait to see all of the final edited images! Jane was so welcoming and ensured I was feeling ok and having fun, which I definitely was!!!
